Jack Breetveld (RI)
Long time NEISOA and NISOA referee, National Assessor and chapter administrator, Jack Breetveld passed away at the age of 80 on January 18, 2018. Jack was a passionate and admired soccer referee for many years. He was a national referee and a national assessor, and most importantly a mentor to young and developing referees.
A memorial service will be held at 11am on January 22, 2018 at the Chapel of Hope and Memory in Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd. Providence, Rhode Island.
This is sad news for me! Growing up in RI, Jack was a good friend. Not only was he a co-founder of the Rhode Island Soccer Officials Association with my father, Carmen Catalatzi & me but he also was a referee mentor to me. He was truly a friend to soccer! I will miss his smile and gentle demeanor.
