NISOA Intercollegiate Uniform Dress Code

(The following NISOA Policy reminds NISOA members of the importance of dress in meeting professional behavior, performance, and appearance expectations in our assigned games.)

NISOA believes that appropriate attire worn by members of an NISOA Referee Team at all intercollegiate game assignments, whether regular season, post-season, or other intercollegiate tournament game assignments, promotes the image of professionalism.  These uniform dress code standards are MANDATORY (See NISOA Policy No. 900-24.)

A neat, clean, well-groomed appearance appropriately emphasizes the Referee Team’s high standards, yet with a low-key approach.

Referee Team dress uniformity is essential to represent the Referee Team; the first impression may be a lasting one.

The assigned Referee must contact the Assistant Referees, and the Alternate Official on that Referee Team (if assigned) early enough before game day to confirm what uniform will be worn for the assigned game.

Any deviation from this uniform dress code at assigned games, including tournament games, shall be considered a violation of the NISOA Standard Code of Ethics.
