This season we have been recognizing a NISOA member for exceptional performance on the field with the Terry Vaughn NISOA Referee of the Week Award. While many of us are extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to be around Terry and his family, we want to share this short film made by Rae Maxwell and the Huntington’s Disease Society of America so that all our members can be aware of this devastating disease and appreciate the strength that Terry and his family demonstrate every day. The Vaughn family is truly extraordinary and we are honored to be associated with them.

  1. This is profound yet awesome. Having been someone who worked games with him, I always considered it to be an honor and thrill yet it doesn’t even begin to touch to who the man is. He was kind yet strong, caring yet determined, professional yet loving. They don’t come any better!
I never achieved the status that Terry did but I loved the game and the people in the same way and can relate as I do battle with my own demon called Parkinson’s.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Terry and especially his family during this journey GOD has put them on. The faith, strength and positivity they live with and emit each day is an inspiration to us all. Terry is and will always be one of the greats and never forgotten.

For the Good of the Game,
