NISOA Referee Training Camp

NISOA Referee Training Camp

Field Training at the NISOA Referee Training Camp

Established in 1977, the NISOA Referee Training Camp is a four day residential training program that focuses on improving soccer referees at the interscholastic and intercollegiate levels.  The program includes classroom sessions, field demonstrations, physical fitness training, development of individual fitness programs, opportunities to officiate games and receive immediate feedback on strengths and suggestions to improve from trained assessors and clinicians.

The NISOA Referee Training Camp is traditionally held during the second week of July at Elizabethtown College near Harrisburg, PA. The camp is conducted by a staff of well qualified and certified NISOA National Clinicians.  The staff is also available at meals, breaks and evening hours for one-on-one sessions with the participants.  This approach allows each “camper” to be immersed in refereeing techniques, mechanics, and psychology of refereeing at various levels. Camp size is limited so that participants have the opportunity to work closely with the staff.

Anyone interested in attending the camp should complete and submit an application by the indicated deadline.  The total cost of attendance is $500, which includes lodging, linens, meals, and instructional materials that support the curriculum.  Please see the most recent camp news for applications and the latest scholarship information.  NISOA will provide a partial scholarship to all other attendees from the NISOA Foundation Fund.  When applying please include information as to why you feel you meet one of the criteria for a scholarship. Upon receipt of application, applicant is notified if they are scholarship eligible. If applicant is not receiving a scholarship, they will be notified to send partial fee or full fee depending on Foundation Fund scholarship. Transportation from the Harrisburg airport is provided by NISOA for accepted camp attendees.
