As the calendar turns to October, we are closer to the end of the college soccer season than the beginning. While every match is important, the matches in mid and late October seem to include the added pressure of conference and NCAA post season eligibility. Our challenge as officials is to meet the demand for complete focus and attention to details. We must stay fresh, energetic and focused on excellence.

Many NISOA members are officiating soccer games under the IFAB Laws of the Game as well as High School soccer rules. We have no room for error in properly applying the NCAA college soccer rules and cannot afford mistakes the arise from lack of preparation. Make a point to continually review the NCAA Soccer rules, with specific emphasis on Rule 5.7 – Video Review, Rule 7.1.1.1 – Tiebreaker and Rule 14 – Penalty Kick.  There are articles on the NISOA web site that specifically address these areas for your use.

Stay healthy and thank you for being a NISOA member.
