Lance VanHaitsma

By: Gary Huber, NISOA President

It is with great pleasure to announce the promotion of Lance VanHaitsma to Chief Operating Officer (COO) of NISOA pending approval of a change in the NISOA Constitution. In the past year as the Director of Operations, Lance has demonstrated his passion for the organization by overseeing various projects and taking on additional responsibilities.

His contributions and accomplishments include, but are not limited to, creating operational efficiencies within the National Referee Program, developing methods of added visibility for high-performing members through the NISOA Referee of the Week initiative, increased membership nationwide through recruiting efforts with local chapters, organization of the inaugural NISOA Referee Summit, and spearheading partnership opportunities with Division II, Division III, and NAIA conferences through practical field training clinics.

Lance also contributed to the record attendance numbers at NISOA National Referee Academies this year. He has contributed to the recent educational reform by using his on-field experiences as an active championship official, most notably the 2018 Division I Women’s College Cup Final, and his current position on the FIFA Panel.

In addition to his previous responsibilities, Lance will also handle Contractual Endeavors, NISOA Referee Summit planning, Vendor Agreements, Strategic Planning Implementation as it parallels our operating goals, and continue improving our relationships with current stakeholders and create new partnerships that will prove to be beneficial to the NISOA membership.

Lance will report directly to the President and Executive Board. Please join me in congratulating and supporting Lance in his role as COO of NISOA.
